MORE AND MORE BIG-BOX RETAIL DEVELOPMENT PLANNED FOR BRONX
BY DANIEL BEEKMAN (NYDN)
When it comes to big-box retail development, the Bronx is booming. New shopping centers are slated for Kingsbridge, the Hub and now Co-op City.
Prestige Properties announced Wednesday plans to develop The Mall at Bay Plaza, a $270 million shopping center anchored by a new Macy’s department store.
The 780,000-square-foot project will be built on a vacant plot at Bay Plaza, the Co-op City shopping mecca that is already the city’s largest retail complex.
